Good evening! I hope you have all had a wonderful week so far! We have once again hit humpday and I am yet again hoping for clear weather this weekend to have a bonfire. Last weekend was another washout so I spent the weekend mostly indoors and working on the new 2023 Peppermint Purple stitch along. While working at the hospital during Covid, I picked up cross stitching again to relax after a stressful day and have found this a great mind-clearing and rewarding hobby. Once I get a few pieces I completed framed, I will share more on that hobby but today I have some more Valentine’s Day-inspired nail art to share with you guys.
This week I wanted to try something a little different and I have to say, I love the results. Normally when I pick a polish for stamping I want something heavily pigmented but this time I went with a more “jelly” polish and the results created the perfect “watercolor” look. For this look, I started off with Open Minded from Cuccio Colour. This shade has the softest shimmer and is the perfect backdrop for my stamping. For the watercolor hearts I used Don’t Get Down by Cuccio Colour with the All About Love plate from Lina Nail Art. Everything was sealed with the High Gloss Top Coat from Cuccio Colour and certainly one of my favorite traditional top coats. It still dries quickly but causes zero shrinkage!
What do you guys think of today’s look? Personally, I am so glad I tried a jelly polish! The results added a fun element and really unique. I’m already digging through my collection and trying to find more color combos to try out.
Now to change things up a bit, I want to share a lovely restaurant my boyfriend and I visited for the first time. Hector’s Kitchen is located in Attalla, Alabama, and offers up a wide range of authentic Colombian cuisine. The owner, Hector, was born and raised in Colombia before coming to the USA, and lucky us, after many years took up home in Attalla. We tried so many items from the menu but these were a few of my favorites!
I tried out the Colombian Iced Tea, the made-from-scratch beef Empanadas, and Carna Asade with Yucca Fries. I’m pretty sure I could have eaten my weight in empanadas! Everything was made fresh to order and left us very satisfied. I am already planning our next trip and all the items I want to try out.
Before I leave tonight I have one more thing to share with you guys….. I applied today to hopefully attend a very, very special event so NASA….if you are reading this….PICK ME!!! Hahaha! Hopefully, I will get to share more on this in the near future so until then, please keep your fingers and toes crossed for me! Thank you all for stopping by this evening and please leave me a line below. Let me know what you would like to see more of here at Model City. Good night and be safe!
