Throwback Thursday

August 1, 2013 by Nina 2 Comments

Good afternoon everyone!  Guess what?!  I have been blogging for a full year! Eeeek!  Be sure to stay tuned for a great giveaway once I am done getting over having my wisdom teeth removed, blah!  Since it has been one year I have decided to start a weekly feature showing off certain blends I loved from the previous year.  First up is going to be an awesome blend from Literary Lacquers.   Last time I paired What Fools These Mortals Be with a dark purple but for a brighter summer mani I went with Neon Purple by Kleancolor.  Other than the typical smell from Kleancolor, I love this polish.  The color is a bright purple with a slight iridescent finish.  I needed just two coats to get a great solid coverage which is wonderful for a neon.

Now to add some amazing glitter.  What Fools These Mortals Be by Literary Lacquer is a clear base packed with holographic pink and purple glitter, aqua, light green, fuchsia, and black glitter.  Application even after sitting for 8 months is still amazing.  The larger aqua glitter was a little tough to grab but I am sure that is just due to it being a pesky mini.  In my photos I am wearing just one coat and then topped with Gelous to smooth the glitter.

So what do you guys think?  I’m sure you can see why it was one of my favorites from this past year….wow, a whole year!  Thanks a ton for stopping by and please check out more great blends from Literary Lacquers.  I will see you guys again tomorrow with some more great spacey blends from one of my favorite makers! <3

Love the Neon Purple! I have heard this brand takes longer to dry because of the formula (water-based, yes?). I also have to look into Gelous…my top coat just does not want to smooth out any glitter larger than micro!

Tahlia I did not notice any extra time as far as drying, just a funky smell. And yes, Gelous is amazing for smoothing out glitter. My quick combo is always a coat of Gelous and a coat of a good fast dry top coat. I generally use Glisten & Glow or Seche Vite, just depends on what polish I am wearing. My Seche and Zoya’s do not get along but G&G and Zoya are best friends, lol!
