Good evening everyone!  I hope you are all having a wonderful Sunday!  Today I have a wear test to share with you guys.  I received the new System Xcel Kit by Formula X and I must admit, at first I was a little skeptical.  Formula X has designed a new 4 piece system that claims to have a 10 day wear time, chip-resistant color, and gel-like shine with out the special lamps or painful removal.  Now while I wasn’t a huge fan of the color I got, I still wanted to give this system a full test so I wore this for 8 days!  So many people commented on how this was not “my color” and was intrigued when I shared that I was wear testing the new System Xcel kit.  So let’s dive in!

First up let’s talk about the System Xcel Kit.  You start off with the Cleanse treatment that removes ALL the oils on your nail and gives a clean slate for painting.  This really was much like wiping your nails with acetone.  It really dried them out, and quick.  Next you use the Prime, or as we all know it as a base coat, to help ensure perfect bonding agents for your color.  Now for some color!  I received TGIF, a coral pink creme, but when building your kit you can pick the color of your liking.  Lastly you follow up with the Shine top coat.  This is not a fast dry top coat so you want to give a little extra dry time before doing anything.

Now for a little info on the color.  TGIF is a lovely coral pink creme that would work with pretty much any skin tone and great for summer.  Application was little thick and patchy but once I applied the Shine Top Coat, everything smoothed out.  In my photos I am wearing two coats of TGIF.

The color itself wasn’t bad, just kind of boring.  I would love to have done some gold stamping but didn’t want to add anything that would change the wear time.  For my wear test I did one coat of Cleanse, one coat of Prime, two coats of color, and one coat of Shine.  I went a full 8 days which included 5 full work days at the computer, 6 blog posts, house cleaning, working on the car, and tons of hand washing.
