Good afternoon everyone! I hope you are all having a great Monday! Today we were teased by the weathermen of potential snow but as always we get cold rain. This seemed like the perfect opportunity to share an idea I have had on my mind for a few weeks now. I had read in a group someone talking about wanting to creating nails that look liked opal and I wanted to give this a try.
For my attempt at opal looking nails I started with a good base of OPI Alpine Snow. I then layers Finger Paints Symmetrical Symphony, Vivid Reflection, Abstract Attraction, Psychedelic Hue, and Colorful Dream to create an opalish look. The flakes are subtle but truly beautiful.
Now this certainly had an icy feel but not quiet opal enough so I decided to take this a step further. I made a very sheer white crelly blend to layer overtop the flakies. The flakes didn’t pick up as well on camera but in person is certainly had a more milky opal feel.
So what do you guys think of my attempt at an opal look? I certainly love this combo as a palette cleanser and love the final look. Thank you so much for stopping by today and I will see you all again tomorrow.

That is a pretty mani. I have those flakies but had never considered doing something like this with them. Thank you for the idea!
