Good evening everyone! I hope you are all having a great Saturday! Today I have a mani to share that I created for a recent concert and book signing by one of my favorite bands, NOFX. If you are a long time follower then you know my love for music and mostly the punk rock genera. NOFX was one of my first introductions to the punk rock world that I encountered and after 20 years, they are still amazing. So when I found out that they were going to be doing a book signing for the NOFX: The Hepatitis Bathtub and Other Stories, I HAD to go!!!! And of course I had to do my nails…..
For my NOFX nails I knew I wanted a loud green and Gnarly by The Painted Nail was the perfect match. I used three coats for full coverage. I then used Willa by Zoya to create the NOFX lettering. I tried my best to replicating the logo, I think I did okay. I found the easiest way for me to get the lettering for both hands was to use my UberChic mat to create decals. Once I applied the decals I had some “rough” spots so I went with splashes of black dots to help cover the decal imperfections and give a more rough look. Everything is sealed with two coats of SuperChic Lacquer Liquid Macro Top Coat.
So what do you guys think of my take on some NOFX inspired nails? I love them!!! My lettering wasn’t perfect but neither is punk rock so blah! Now I would like to take a moment and say a few notes on the book. The Hepatitis Bathtub and Other Stories book was AMAZING!!! It’s a punk rock tale of drugs, alcohol, touring, struggles, sex and much much more. Fat Mike had me laughing historically, Smelly had me feeling less alone when it comes to the need for acceptance, Melvin’s true laid back nature was calming at times, and Hefe’s all around awesomeness! One minute you are laughing and the next you want to cry. If you are looking for a good and yet shocking read….check it out!!!! Now one thing I can hope and dream for, these guys do the reading for the audiobook!!! Thank you so much for stopping by today and I will see you all again tomorrow.
