Good evening everyone! Who is ready for the weekend? Me and I am also ready for spring! Today’s post features two gorgeous blends that took many trips to Sally’s to final acquire. Finger Paints released a new flakie collection, the Kaleidoscope Collection, last month that has been getting mixed reviews but didn’t keep me from continuously looking at my local stores. I figured I would still give them a try and maybe do something a little different.
First up is Abstract Attraction. This one is a clear base blend with pastel blue and pastel purple flakies, and a splash of pastel pink. All the photos I have seen showed this paired with a black base color and the colors seemed muted so I decide to go with a pastel. In my photos I am wearing two coats of Abstract Attraction over Julep Bess and sealed with a coat of Gelous.
Now for my favorite, Colorful Dream. This is a clear base blend loaded with teal, blue, peach, pink, and lavender flakies. I used two coats over Julep Martha and a coat of Gelous.
So what do you guys think of the new Kaleidoscope Collection? While I was not impressed with these over black, against a pastel backdrop they looked gorgeous! Dark base colors seem to washout the colors but with the pastels they were a nice accent. Still nothing like the original collection but pretty in their own way. I think I am going to take advantage of the buy one get one on Finger Paints this month at Sally’s and complete this collection. Thank you so much for stopping by tonight and I look forward to seeing you all again tomorrow. <3

I know they aren’t as flashy as the last set of FP flakies, but I like them! Especially over coordinating colors like you did. I think it adds just enough without being over the top.

I agree, and I’m glad they are a little different than the last collection. You don’t see many pastel flakies on the market.
