Good evening everyone! I hope you are all having a wonderful Monday! Tonight’s post is going to be a little different. A few weeks ago I attended a girls night out dinner and met tons of awesome people. As we were talking a few girls made mention about how they couldn’t wear nail polish because it always chipped so quickly due to their jobs, life, etc. I started my routine preaching of base coat top coat, all the ladies looked at me like I grew a third eye! So here we are today with my public rant. Base coat and top coats are just as important as the lacquer it self. Everyone’s body chemistry is different so it is a trial and error but trust me, there is a combo out there for everyone. Along with the perfect base coat, make sure you always start with the cleanest nail beds possible to ensure the best adhesion. Now for some fun…..
I rocked today’s mani for a total of 7 days before photographing. This is a week’s work of house cleaning, laundry, dish cleaning, and a 50 hour work week which involved computer use, tearing open boxes, tons of hand washing, and dealing with dirty, oily automotive parts. Products used include SuperChic Lacquer Bring On The Base!, Siren’s Mint Smash by Blue-eyed Girl Lacquer, R.E.M by SuperChic Lacquer, and SuperChic Lacquer Liquid Macro Top Coat.

Most of my manicures last 7 days or longer but that’s because I always use a base and top coat. It amazes me when people don’t and then complain. Your mani is a beauty.
Agreed!!! Cheaping out happens a lot too! People will spend good money on polish but then buy the cheapest base/top coat they can find. 😛

The mani is super cute…and I agree…BASE COAT AND TOP COAT! My friends that aren’t wearing base coat and top coat (or honestly, even just top coat) think I’m crazy…but if you’re not using a base coat, you are wasting your time!!! 😉
Thanks!!!! Yes, and don’t cheap out on the essentials. I never understand spending $10 plus on a bottle of polish but $5 for a base coat is just too much. 😛
Aww, finally I’m not alone in this! People usually think I’m a liar when I say my ordinary nail polish lasts even 2 weeks on me! And I work, do my households, take super hot showers and wash my hair every other day ’cause it’s super long and needs to be washed frequently.
I’ve found my perfect combo, so every polish serves as a gel polish to me <3

I have a lot of regrowth after 7 days but the shine is nuts! I normally use Duri Rejuvacote base coat & Glisten & Glow H K Girl top coat.
I’ve never tried Duri but I love Glisten & Glow too!!!
