Hey there! Happy Tuesday! I hope you all had a fantastic weekend! I was so lucky to have a long weekend, and I kicked it off with a lovely lunch with my mom and stepdad. We celebrated Mother’s Day (since I was out of town) and my stepdad’s birthday. The rest of my weekend was spent cooking and cleaning. My boyfriend is a retail manager, so he had long hours this weekend, but I still managed to do some holiday cooking and baking. Our backyard makeover is ongoing, so I’m holding off on buying a new grill/smoker. Instead, I made a brisket in the slow cooker, homemade BBQ sauce, vinegar coleslaw, baked sweet potato fries, and homemade peach cobbler with ice cream. The only things I could have made from scratch were the vanilla ice cream and buns.
I love food, and Memorial Day Weekend is the official kickoff for summer for me, so I had to do some summer-inspired nail art. I have this feeling we are going to have an abnormally hot summer, so I went with some wave inspiration for today’s look. I certainly hope to get some pool time this year because I really hate being hot!
For today’s nail art, I used one of my favorite brands, Cuccio Colour. For my look, I used two coats of Blueberry Sorbet by Cuccio Colour and then Live Your Dream from Cuccio Colour with the Spinning Plate from Pet’la Plates. Everything was then sealed with a coat of Marvel Liquid Macro Top Coat by SuperChic Lacquer.
What do you guys think of today’s look? While I love it, I am not looking forward to summer! What are your favorite ways to cool off during the summer months? Are there any big plans to break the heat this year? For us, it will mainly consist of working and counting down the days until Fall.
